INSTANT UTOPIA

Super sustainable transformation of the former Polaroid factory site

INSTANT UTOPIA

ENSCHEDE, 2012

“Any problem can be solved using the materials in the room.”
Edwin Land, Inventer of Polaroid instant camera

Instant Utopia is located at the former Polaroid factory site.

Instant Utopia uses what is available. By rearranging existing features, surprising new combinations can be created. The proposal is prepared to accomodate both commercial and low-bottom developments, which each can develop at their own pace. Qualities that are currently invisible continue to be nurtured and magnified. Problems are improved by small-scale repairs. To put into building the South as an anchor point for the design was chosen to allow the industrial character as intact as possible. The device design may be limited to the design of various types of micro architecture. The Polaroid brand and identity is perceived as a strong carrier of the project that appeals to the ambition and target audience of the site.
